MEDIA ADVISORY: Watershed Watch Available to Respond to Today’s Three Wild Salmon Announcements

VANCOUVER – Today, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard launched Canada’s celebration of the International Year of the Salmon, introducing the Government of Canada’s Wild Salmon Policy 2018-2022 Implementation Plan.

He also announced that Fisheries and Oceans Canada has released its third and final Cohen Status Update, which details the government’s actions on the 75 recommendations from the Cohen Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River. Also today, Premier John Horgan announced the release of the Provincial Wild Salmon Advisory Council’s report and recommendations.
