Concerns Over Proposed Location for Hazardous Waste Plant to be Presented to Metro Vancouver Climate Action Committee on March 26, 2015

Burnaby, BC – On Thursday March 26th , representatives of the Protect the Fraser Coalition will be presenting their concerns about the threats posed to downstream communities should the Aevitas hazardous waste facility be built on the banks of the Fraser River in Chilliwack. The presentation will be made to the Metro Vancouver Climate Action Committee whose mandate includes environmental planning.

Representing the Coalition will be renowned river advocate and Rivers Chair of the Outdoor Recreation Council, Mark Angelo and Lina Azeez, engagement coordinator with Watershed Watch Salmon Society.

Angelo and Azeez will present an update of events to the Committee and seek their support and advice as they work to relocate the proposed facility away from the banks of the Fraser River.

The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
