Blind slough fish trap (9)Join Watershed Watch for a special Rivers Day canoe tour of the Katzie Slough to celebrate BC Rivers Day! Learn about the slough’s history, ecology, and the challenges that make it emblematic of many small streams in the lower mainland.

B.C. Rivers Day coincides with World Rivers Day, a global celebration of the world’s waterways. It highlights the many values of rivers and encourages the improved stewardship of rivers around the world.

When: Saturday, September 23, 2017
Time: 10 am – 1 pm
Cost: $20/canoe (up to 3 people in a canoe) or FREE with your own canoe or kayak.
Location: 13063 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows
Parking: on private driveway and along Harris Road
Clean-up equipment: As we canoe, we’ll pick up garbage along the banks and in the water. Garbage bags, gloves and pick-uppers will be provided.

This event is rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

Canoes, life jackets and refreshments provided. This is a kid-friendly event.
