Canadian fisheries scientist Dr. Kristi Miller-Saunders is no stranger to controversy. She was one of the first Canadian scientists to be “muzzled” because her research on fish farm diseases was deemed too sensitive by the government of the day.

In late 2016, Dr. Miller-Saunders testified to a government committee in Ottawa, telling Members of Parliament that the close ties between government and the salmon farming industry are compromising the federal government’s science! This powerful statement needs to be shared, so we made a short video about it.

Help us get Dr. Miller-Saunder’s message out and build our collective power through the Safe Passage campaign.

Can you keep the momentum going by sharing the video? Here’s how:

  1. Share it on your own Facebook and post it to groups
  2. Tweet it here
  3. Use the YouTube link to share it by email to friends, neighbours and co-workers

Dr. Miller-Saunders is an exemplary federal scientist and needs to be supported. Last week she joined scientists from Canada and Europe to present more ground-breaking disease research at a science summit at Simon Fraser University that Watershed Watch helped organize.

The evidence keeps piling up against this dangerous industry. It is time for our government to get out of bed with the salmon farming companies, and get the salmon farms off of wild salmon migration routes.

Thanks for being a part of the solution by sharing the video!

P.S. You can also help the cause by signing and sharing our Safe Passage Petition!
