Budget cuts at DFO have led to lack of transparency

Conservationists sound off on growing privatization of fisheries management.


Aaron Hill, Executive Director of Watershed Watch Salmon Society, discusses the lack of transparency at DFO when violations come to light.

When Hill continued pressing the department, he said the response he got back was one of “obfuscation and denial, which is so typical, unfortunately, of the way the Department of Fisheries and Oceans interacts with conservation groups and the public.”
