We welcome the announcement this week of the new minister of Fisheries.

Watershed Watch looks forward to working with Nunavut MP Hunter Tootoo, minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.

One Response to Hunter Tootoo: Canada’s new Minister of Fisheries

  1. We are more optimistic with our new Fisheries Minister that full attention will be paid to our ultimate food sources — WATER.
I am sure Mr. Tootoo knows that with every barrel of oil and ton of coal we ship west that we in Canada get back most of the air and water pollution. The economy will so improve if we end export of oil and coal and concentrate on developing an economy that supports our land as well as our people — a green economy will strengthen us all.

And we can’t have a strong healthy economy without a strong and healthy First Nations population leading the way.
