Two completely new open-net salmon farms are now being proposed. Let’s resist this senseless expansion together. Sign and share our growing petition to protect wild salmon at

WWSS-SOS Salmon Farming ExpansionThis expansion is counter intuitive to all the published science that highlights this industry as a risk to wild salmon, and it’s not consistent with recommendations from the $26 million federal sockeye inquiry we invested in.

These proposals also set an all new low in terms of public consultation. Very limited Information about these proposed farms is being shared. The boundaries of the tenure are provided but there is scant information related to production volumes, habitat surveys, or environmental assessment. To top it off, the email that was first provided for contacting DFO didn’t even work (it may be fixed now).
