Lina AzeezWatershed Watch is pleased to welcome Lina Azeez to our team as our Fraser Voice Organizer.  Lina holds a B.A in Geography and a M.A Sustainable Natural Resource Management. She has worked extensively in the lower mainland on protecting fresh water resources for all users – human and non-human. Her work included riparian restoration including species at risk habitats. Lina recognizes the importance of engaging local communities in these issues and has with stewardship groups in Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford to improve water and habitat quality. Lina is an avid traveller, most recently spending a year in Costa Rica studying how communities engage with their environment from watershed protection to forestry and agriculture against various stressors.

As Watershed Watch’s Fraser Voice Organizer, Lina will be working to understand citizen perceptions and engage with people in the Fraser River watershed on issues that affect salmon and salmon habitat. Lina will be contacting Fraser Valley residents to hear their concerns and to increase citizen support for salmon conservation.
