The Tri-City News article Salmon inquiry weighs risk from habitat protection reform discusses how the Cohen Inquiry is attempting to incoporate Bill C-38, and associated proposed changes to the Fisheries Act, into its evaluation of Fraser sockeye.  Groups have been given until May 14th to table submissions on the impact of this new legislation.

Watershed Watch Executive Director, Craig Orr, is quoted in the article stating “It raises the threshold for what is considered to be serious harm to fish.  Without a doubt we all think this really does strike at the heart of what Cohen should be considering. It has huge implications to our ability to protect salmon.”
