Canadians spent $26 million for a Federal Inquiry to investigate the decline of wild sockeye in the Fraser River. First Nations, scientists, recreational fishers, conservationists and many others worked together for more than 2 years to find solutions. On October 31, 2012 Justice Bruce Cohen presented the public with 75 recommendations. Government has yet to act meaningfully.
It’s time for citizens and Inquiry participants to unite through this petition and call on government to immediately implement the recommendations from the Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser River to ensure wild salmon are protected for future generations.
Add your name to our petition and let your friends know about this petition to demand action on these recommendations that have been called "a blueprint to conserve salmon."
